Members of of the ruling (NPP) stormed the Supreme Court on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, ahead of the court's judgement on an application filed by their leader, , challenging the declaration of four seats in the House vacant, which made them the Minority Caucus temporarily.
After the court's ruling, which overturned the Speaker's declaration, the NPP MPs could be seen rejoicing over their victory in the courtroom.
They then proceeded outside the courtroom, and their celebration continued.
Their leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who has now retained his position as Majority Leader, first addressed the press about the success of his application, which he described as "a victory for democracy".
