This year's Farmers' Day was marked across the districts to honour farmers, fishers at the local levels for their enormous contributions to the development of agriculture in the country.
For their contributions in promoting food security of the country, the winners apart from certificates, were presented with prizes such as, freezers, tricycles, Polytanks, cutlasses, agro-chemicals, Wellington boots, wax prints and knapsack sprayers.
From the Adentan Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, Lawrence Vomafa-Akpalu reports that, a 52-year-old farmer, Godwin Tsikata, was adjudged the overall best Municipal Farmer with eight other winners.
At Asutsuare in the Shai Osuduku District, the assemblyman of Asutsuare, Jonathan Kene Kwabla was adjudged the overall best District Farmer, alongside 10 other winners.
