Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy will receive the majority of his unpaid wages, a judge has ruled, after a legal battle over £11 million in salary.
Mendy, who was suspended without pay by City from September 2021 until his departure in June 2023, took the club to an employment tribunal after being charged with rape and sexual assault in August 2021.
He was cleared of all charges in 2023, following two separate trials.
Judge Joanne Dunlop ruled that City had the right to withhold Mendy's wages for the time he spent in custody, around five months.
