The Locker Room bonus initiative, introduced by BetPawa to benefit Ghana Premier League players from the 2022/23 season has been extended for the 2024/25 campaign.Players in matchday squads are set to receive GHS 400 each, the same figure as last season as cash payment for every match their team wins.
Three technical team members have also been included in the package.The former Ghana Premier League title sponsor has also extended the bonus to the Women's FA Cup, with female footballers set to receive the same amount each for winning a game.
The initiative for the women is set to take effect from the round of 16 stage."We will continue to sponsor the Premier League and we have decided to extend the sponsorship not only to men but also to women.
The Ghana Football Association will receive a commission to make it happen," Ntoudi Mouleyo-Katouza, Chief Commercial Officer for BetPawa revealed in a press briefing."The GFA is receiving the commission based on conditions that we have set and they have agreed," Katouza added.The conditions include matches taking place on time and submission of matchday squads 24-48 hours before games.BetPawa have invested about GHS 1,900,000 in the space of two seasons on the Locker Room bonus.
