Attorney General and Minister of Justice Godfred Yeboah Dame has praised the election of the new Ghana Bar Association (GBA) president, Efua Ghartey as one with divine significance.

He emphasised that her election coincided with a pivotal year for Ghana, marked by the passage of the Affirmative Action Act, which was signed into law by the President on July 30, 2024, after considerable legislative challenges.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for the President and executives of the GBA in Accra on Monday, November 4, Dame reflected on the symbolic nature of Ghartey's election, stating, "I made a comment to Mrs.

Ghartey in Kumasi that her election seemed to have a divine touch and meant for a time like this." Dame also noted Ghartey's perseverance, highlighting that she was "third time lucky," having been elected only after her third attempt.
