The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamdu Bawumia has  assured Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) that if he assumes the position as the President, they will benefit from investment tax exemptions.

While sharing his plans on how to create jobs for the youth when he comes into power, Dr Bawumia disclosed that his government will establish an SMEs bank for small scale business to meet the special needs of SMEs.

According to him, SMEs employ about 80% of Ghanaians so it is important to pay attention to the needs of SMEs. "We will also incentivize Ghanaian startups in selected strategic sectors with investment tax credit for the first three years of their operations" Dr Bawumia assured owners of SMEs.

According to Dr Bawumia, a lot of startups go through a lot of difficulties in their first 3 years of operations hence these startups will be given investment tax credit for the first three years to enable them to stand on their feet and help them create jobs.
