In a pivotal decision following the recent passing of its founder, Akua Donkor, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has selected Roman Fadda as its new flagbearer for the December 7, 2024, presidential elections.
The party's executives in Kumasi reached this decision on November 3, officially endorsing Fadda as Donkor's successor.
Before her death, Donkor had laid out a clear succession plan, naming her vice as the one to take over leadership in the event of her passing.
In respect of her wishes, the GFP's constituency and national leaders came together to unanimously elevate Roman Fadda to the party's top position.
