Five people have been confirmed dead, while 30 are admitted at Kasoa Polyclinic and Mother and Child Hospital following a cholera outbreak in Kasoa, located in the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region.
According to the Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Anita Love Obo Amissah, three of the victims died on Thursday night, and two more died on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of deaths to five.
In an interview with Kasapa News' Yaw Boagyan, MCE Anita Love Obo Amissah reported that the number of cases had increased from 20 to 30 as of Friday afternoon.
She urged residents of Kasoa to take necessary precautions to avoid contracting the disease.
