President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially enacted the Ghana Shippers' Authority Act, 2024, marking a pivotal step forward for the nation's shipping and logistics industry.

The Act, which was approved by Parliament in July and received the President's assent on October 18, 2024, expands the Ghana Shippers' Authority's (GSA) regulatory powers, now covering sea, air, and land transportation.

This new legislation is intended to promote a balanced, competitive environment in Ghana's commercial shipping sector.

On October 31, 2024, the GSA issued a statement confirming that the Act will strengthen its ability to ensure transparency in pricing, uphold service quality, and elevate Ghana's profile as a key destination for international trade.
