Correspondence from Mumuni Yunus, Northern Region: Former President John Mahama has asked President Akufo-Addo when he will resign following the depreciation of the Ghana Cedi against the US dollar.

The NDC Flagbearer recalled when then Candidate Nana Akufo-Addo said if he were the late President, John Evans Atta Mp, he would resign because the cedi was trading at Gh¢2 to a dollar.

Addressing a rally at Lugni in the Wulensi constituency of the Northern region on Tuesday, Mr Mahama asked the President if he would resign now that the Ghanaian Cedi is trading at nearly qGh¢17 to a dollar. "He's on video and he said that Kufour's time, Gh¢1 [equals] one dollar, Mahama and Mills time two cedis, one dollar and that if he were Mills and Mahama he would resign.

I'm asking him, today one dollar, 17 cedis, would he resign?" he quizzed.
