FIFA will hold a meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and relevant stakeholders to discuss implementing Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology in Ghana's domestic leagues.Scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 2024, in Accra, this initial VAR "kick-off meeting" is a key step in FIFA's Implementation Assessment Approval Program (IAAP), a mandatory process for any member association aiming to adopt VAR.The meeting will bring together the full FIFA VAR project team, led by Inokuchi Takaaki and Michael Bailey, to review the technical and procedural requirements of VAR.On the GFA side, General Secretary Prosper Harisson Addo will lead a team including key figures like Alex Kotey (Head of Referees), Emmanuel Aglago (VAR Instructor), and Marian Mensah (Head of Legal Affairs), alongside others involved in refereeing, IT, competitions, and public relations.FIFA's delegation will assess the GFA's readiness and, pending approval, grant the go-ahead for the VAR rollout.
