The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, , has stated that President will have no objection to reinstating suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo, should she be cleared of all allegations levelled against her.
Speaking in an interview on Oyerepa TV on June 27, 2025, Kwakye Ofosu emphasised that the matter involving the suspended Chief Justice is being handled in accordance with constitutional provisions and that President Mahama will abide by the outcomes of due process. "President Mahama has no personal interest in this matter and will act based solely on the recommendations of the Council of State and the requirements of the Constitution," he clarified.
Chief Justice Torkornoo was recently suspended following three petitions that accused her of misconduct and abuse of office.
A special investigative committee has since been set up by the president to probe the claims.
