A conflict resolution and peacebuilding expert, Emmanuel Bombande, has dismissed a recent Reuters report suggesting that northern Ghana has become a logistical and medical base for Islamist militants involved in Burkina Faso's conflict.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh, he made these remarks in an interview on Joy FM on October 25, 2024.

He described the report as 'completely sensational and over-exaggerated' and urged the public to ignore such reports and rather focus on constructive partnerships with security agencies.

Emmanuel Bombande also argued that such reports often originate from misunderstandings by outsiders who question why Ghana has avoided jihadist attacks.
