The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has issued a strong warning to the government, signalling a possible nationwide strike if their longstanding demands remain unaddressed by November.

Representing mortuary workers across the country, MOWAG is pushing for better working conditions, such as improved wages, a safer work environment, and adequate personal protective equipment (PPE).

According to MOWAG, these issues have lingered since 2019, yet authorities have taken little action.

Richard Kofi Jordan, General Secretary of MOWAG, voiced the association's mounting frustration, accusing the government of intentionally delaying progress by requesting unnecessary data, a tactic he claims is aimed at stalling negotiations and sidestepping the workers' main concerns.
