Parliament has firmly refuted claims that Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has held a meeting with President Akufo-Addo to negotiate a settlement regarding the status of four parliamentary seats declared vacant.

In a statement issued by the parliamentary administration, officials described the reports as "false" and "misleading," urging the public to ignore the claims.

The controversy was fueled by a video shared online, which purported to show the Speaker meeting with the President after his pronouncement on October 17, 2024, regarding the Minority's call to vacate four seats in Parliament.

The seats are Fomena, Amenfi Central, Suhum, and Agona West parliamentary seats.
