Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has firmly dismissed claims that he met with President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to discuss a settlement concerning the declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant.
The controversy stems from Speaker Bagbin's October 17 ruling, which declared the Fomena, Amenfi Central, Suhum, and Agona West seats vacant-a decision that the Supreme Court has since paused pending further review.
To address growing rumours, Parliament stated on October 22 clarifying that a widely circulated video, allegedly depicting a recent meeting between Speaker Bagbin and President Akufo-Addo, has been misrepresented.
According to the statement, the footage in question is from a prior event involving the presentation of the maiden Democracy Cup to the President, and it bears no relevance to the current parliamentary dispute.
