The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah Kubi has hinted that the Attorney-General (A-G) will take up investigations into the airbus scandal. This hint comes after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) concluded its investigations into the case. In a report issued on August 8, the OSP named the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as Government Official 1 and his brother Samuel Adam Mahama as the intermediary alleged to have facilitated the payment of bribes to various officials. The OSP however reported that there is no evidence that former President Mahama was involved or played any role in the procurement and maintenance of the agency relationship between Airbus, its agents and associates in respect of the purchase by the Government of Ghana. Members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the report was made public, have expressed their disappointment about the work done by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
