The government has established a five-member committee to investigate the rock-blasting accident at Buduburam in the Central Region that claimed three lives and left several others injured.

The Central Regional Minister, Justina Marigold Assan, revealed this in an interview, stating that the committee will be chaired by Solomon Darko Quarm, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of Gomoa East.

Other members include representatives from the traditional authorities, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO), and the Ghana Police Service.

According to the Minister, the committee's responsibilities include assessing the situation and recommending appropriate compensation for the affected residents. "The committee will tour the community, identify all affected victims-not just those injured or deceased, but also those whose properties were damaged," she explained.
