The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of plotting to rig the elections in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the disqualification of the Amenfi Central parliamentary candidate (PC) of the NDC.General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Kwetey says the party will resist the alleged move by the commission to rig the polls.Addressing a press conference in Accra on Thursday, October 17 he said "The NDC will not accept this decision; we will fight it in the court.""From SALL to Amenfi Central, EC's action show an attempt to rig elections," he added.He explained that "Let me be clear on this point: the September 2024 election rendered the May 2023 election null and void.

It effectively reset the clock.

The interlocutory injunction tied to the May election became legally moot.

The new election, conducted under fresh circumstances, was a legitimate process, fully compliant with the laws of Ghana, and with no legal challenge against it.
