Mahamudu Bawumia, has disclosed that Ghana will introduce its first local music streaming service in November.In a meeting with stakeholders in the creative arts sector on Wednesday, Dr.
Bawumia underscored the need for an indigenous solution to support Ghanaian musicians and filmmakers to earn more money for their work."Spotify and other platforms are externally owned, so it's not surprising that the payments to our musicians are very little," he said, emphasising that current external platforms don't provide enough returns for artistes in Ghana."The issue for us has been to ensure we have a local streaming platform where we can put all the catalogues from A to Z that we can find in Ghana."Dr.
