President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commended the chiefs and people of Dagbon for understanding one another to bring lasting peace to the protracted chieftaincy conflict in the Dagbon Kingdom.

He said the reconciliation committee that worked to ensure there was peace in Dagbon needed to be commended for the good work done. "The lasting peace to the Dagbon protracted chieftaincy is an achievement to my government," the President stated.

The President said these here in Yendi at the Gbewaa palace yesterday when he paid a courtesy call on Ya-Na Abukari Mahama to "inform you that the mandate the good people of this country give me is coming to an end and I feel that it is good for me to come and to thank you for what have done for me as King of Dagbon." President Akufo-Addo added that the stability of peace in Yendi and its environs had brought so much development to the entire Dagbon Kingdom.

He stated that other traditional areas in Ghana must emulate the good examples of Dagbon to ensure that they was lasting peace across the traditional area of this country.
