A tragic accident early Sunday morning, October 13, 2024, claimed the lives of 14 people, including a toddler and two other minors, when a VIP bus traveling from Kumasi to Samreboi veered off the road and plunged into a river near Kwapia on the Akrokerri-Obuasi road in the Ashanti Region.
Police confirmed that the victims included seven males, five females, and the three children who were on board the bus.
All but one of the victims died instantly at the scene.
The driver, identified as Osei Adu, was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away shortly after his arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
