Eight persons were killed and several others injured in two gory separate road crashes at East Legon in Accra, and Atwedie on the Kumasi-Accra Highway in the Ashanti Region, at the weekend.

At East Legon, a 4×4 Acura vehicle with registration number GR 2542-23 and a Jaguar SUV vehicle collided, resulting in flames that burnt two woman beyond recognition. •The burnt vehicles after the accident at East Legon Similarly, six people died and several others injured at Atwedie, when a Mercedes Benz Sprinter with registration number AS 6413-16 collided with a Hyundai VIP bus with registration number AC 1550-17.

A police source disclosed that the tragedy to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday, stating that the cause of the crashes was under investigations.

The source said at about 5:00 p.m, information received by the police at the Airport Division in­dicated that there had been a crash at Mensah Wood Avenue/East Legon involving two vehicles.
