The Northern Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended Mr Abdul-Fatawu from his position as Northern Regional Nasara Coordinator following a series of controversial statements he made on social media and during public appearances.

The committee cited concerns over the damaging impact of his remarks on the party's reputation, prompting the indefinite suspension.

The decision, reached during a meeting on October 12, 2024, was taken in accordance with Article 4(7a) of the party's constitution, which defines misconduct as any action by a member that brings the party into public ridicule or disrepute.

Abdul-Fatawu's recent comments on social media and subsequent outbursts on radio and other media platforms were deemed to have violated this code of conduct.
