The Okyenhene, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the overlord of the Akyem Abuakwa State, also known as Okyeman, marks the 25th anniversary of his reign this year, 2024.
The silver jubilee celebration, marked with a series of activities throughout the year, climaxed on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with a Royal Grand Durbar at Kyebi.
Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin is the 35th King of Okyeman, one of the greatest traditional states in Ghana, and was installed on October 4, 1999.
The Akyem Abuakwa State comprises 12 of the 18 Akyem districts in the Eastern Region, namely: Abuakwa North, Abuakwa South, Fanteakwa North, Fanteakwa South, Atiwa West, Atiwa East, Suhum, Ayensuano, Upper West Akyem, Lower West Akyem, Denkyembour, and Kwaebibirem.
