Johnathan Asante Otchere, Security Analyst and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has shared Five (5) preposition to fight illegal mining in the country.
During an interview on TV3's NewDay monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Jonathan Asante shared some steps he believes would be helpful in the current fight on galamsey in the country.
According to him, the first step the government needs to take is to ban all mining activities in the country temporarily and also ask miners to evacuate all their mining machines from the mining sites as a way to prevent anyone from sneaking into these sites to mine.
Jonathan Asante further advised that after these two steps have been taken, drones or satellite images should be generated to show the real-life situation in the areas where mining and galamsey had taken place to have a pictorial view of the situation. "If we are really serious about fighting galamsey, I have given 5 prepositions.
