The Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners (GNASSM) has announced that they are partnering with the government to combat illegal mining (Galamsey).

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our efforts to safeguard Ghana's natural resources, the association said in a statement after engaging with the government on Wednesday, October 9.

As part of the partnerships, the association said, the government will deploy trained water wordens and the Navy to join forces with GNASSM's task force, patrolling water bodies and protecting forest reserves, declared red zones. "GNASSM and the government will work together to ensure the sustainable management of these critical ecosystems.
