The Board Chair of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMeT), Isaac Amoo, has warned staff against joining the organised labour strike on October 10 against the illegal mining menace, commonly known as galamsey.
He noted that GMeT workers are prohibited from taking part in the nationwide strike, and those who disobey this directive will be considered as having terminated their employment.
He stated that GMeT provides an essential service, and any employee who participates in the strike should not return to the premises. "On behalf of the Board and the leadership of this agency, I want to announce to you that GMeT does not approve any of its workers to join the nationwide strike.
And any worker who will flout the directive of your board should declare him or herself as having terminated the appointment if you join the strike," he cautioned.
