The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged all women to conduct routine breast cancer checks.
He says that early detection saves lives hence the need to regular go through medical examinations.
In a post on his Facebook page as part of the breast cancer awareness campaign in the month of October, Dr Bawumia said " Breast cancer awareness, early detection saves lives." Breast Cancer Awareness Month has been celebrated every October since the nineties.
It is called 'Pink October' as people around the world adopt the pink colour and display a pink ribbon to raise awareness about breast health.
