One of the Democracy Hub protesters who were arrested and granted has accused the Police of frustrating the process to complete their bail process.
In a Facebook post, she said her bail was granted around 11am yesterday Monday, October 7, but the court order was only sent to the police around 2pm today Tuesday, October 8. "The police needs to verify the sureties, this still hasn't been done, The police need to sign the "Release form" after verifying the sureties, this still hasn't been done, Currently all the personnel at Ghana Police Service who need to do the verification and consequently sign the release form are at the Court premises currently, The person who signs the bail bond closed at 4:00pm today, The person who needs to sign the bail bond at the High Court apparently won't be working tomorrow, See you next week !!
Do you see how the state conspires to frustrate its citizens? 16 days in police custody and counting," she wrote on Facebook.
The Accra High Court on Monday, October 7 granted bail to 20 members of the Democracy Hub, the group accused of holding an unlawful assembly in Accra.
