Organised Labour has confirmed its decision to move forward with a nationwide strike scheduled for October 10, 2024, after failed negotiations to call it off.
The decision stems from a deep dissatisfaction with President Akufo-Addo's response to their pressing demands concerning galamsey and the conditions spelt out The group has been advocating for a state of emergency to address the issue, as well as the implementation of long-term solutions.
Joshua Ansah, the Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), has been vocal about their resolve. "Our strike notice remains unchanged," he declared, underscoring that the government's proposals have not sufficiently addressed the concerns raised by Organised Labour.
Yet, as Organised Labour prepares for this significant action, tensions simmer beneath the surface.
