The Rastafari Council of Ghana has urged the government to take action against the illegal mining activities, known as galamsey, that are causing damage to the country's environment, water bodies, and agricultural lands.

The council expressed its concern about the ongoing destruction caused by these activities and highlighted the increasing calls from Ghanaians for immediate and sustainable solutions.

In a press release, the council emphasized its dedication to natural living and environmental protection. "These illegal mining activities not only endanger the livelihoods of our farmers and the well-being of our communities but also jeopardize the future of our children.

We are depleting resources that should be conserved for future generations," said Ahuma Bosco Ocansey, President of the Rastafari Council.
