Galamsey: We have resolved to revoke L.I that allows mining in forests – Government

The Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar has indicated that the government had agreed with labour unions to revoke the Environmental Protection (Mining in Forest Reserves) Regulations, 2023 (L.

I. 2462).

Stakeholders including the labour unions had called on the government to revoke the L.I.

The Information Minister says the government is waiting on parliament to reconvene for the steps to be taken.
