The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has advised the public to refrain from kissing and having sex with individuals infected with monkeypox.
This measure is aimed at preventing the transmission of the disease, which spreads through close physical contact, according to the GHS.
The advisory follows the confirmation of a monkeypox case in the Bia West District of the Western North Region.
The GHS has also reported that 230 suspected monkeypox (mpox) cases have been identified in 88 districts across the country.
