National Women Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kate Gyamfuah has questioned why protesters against illegal mining found their voices only when the election is drawing closer.
To her, in 2020, the actions taken by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo against illegal mining activities in the country led the NPP to lose all their seats in the mining communities in Ghana except Tarkwa.
While the fight was ongoing then, she indicates that the voices that are loud now were nowhere to be found, stating that shockingly, all these people have hit the streets. "In 2020 when Akufo-Addo was fighting galamsey with all his might, you decided not to raise your voices in the fight.
NPP lost all the elections in the mining communities because his opponent assured galamseyers of releasing them from prison.
