Franklin Cudjoe, President of Imani Africa, has accused the government of sponsoring illegal mining activities, also known as galamsey.

His comments come after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo requested organized labour to postpone its planned strike, set for October 10, in order to give the government more time to address their demands.

During a closed-door meeting on Thursday, October 3, President Akufo-Addo assured union leaders of his commitment to resolving the issues at hand, asking for patience.

However, Franklin Cudjoe, in an interview with 3FM's Beatrice Adu on Midday Live on October 4, expressed frustration, stating that the president has failed to deliver on his promises to tackle galamsey, despite earlier vows to crack down on the issue.
