FC Samartex left-back Isaac Afful has earned a call-up to the Black Stars squad for their upcoming doubleheader against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The 25-year-old is one of only two local-based players in the 25-man squad, alongside Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare.
Afful's consistent performances have drawn the attention of head coach Otto Addo.
With Ghana's ongoing issues in the left-back position due to injuries and inconsistent performances, Afful is seen as a valuable backup to returning left-back Gideon Mensah.
