President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that he has no power to impose a president on Ghanaians in this year's general election.

However, he said, as an 80-year-old man, having served two consecutive terms as president, he is in the position to advise on which of the presidential candidates should succeed him.

Addressing the clergy and the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs in Wa, the President said "As President, I cannot impose anybody on you.
