Asante Kotoko earned a crucial win over Nsoatreman FC in an outstanding Ghana Premier League fixture at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, moving the Porcupine Warriors up to second place on the league table.

The match, initially scheduled for matchday two, was postponed due to Nsoatreman's participation in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they were eliminated by CS Constantine.

After a cagey first half, the game finally sparked into life early in the second half.

Just two minutes after the break, Nsoatreman defender Issahaka Mohammed accidentally headed a cross from Dauda Saaka into his own net, giving Kotoko the lead.
