Job Description
The Safety Officer is responsible for promoting a safe workplace by identifying hazards, enforcing safety regulations, conducting training, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards to prevent accidents and protect employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Enforce Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare safety reports and maintain HSE records
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and activities, including fire drills and first aid arrangements.
Requirements
Required Skills or Experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Educational Requirements
- Certified in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Diploma or Bachelors in OHS
Required Years of Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in similar role.
