Job Description
The Marketing Manager will develop, execute, and optimize marketing strategies to grow audience engagement, station branding, and revenue across platforms (broadcast, digital, and social). This role leads campaign planning, manages marketing communications, coordinates promotions with programming/sales teams, and measures performance to improve ROI.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Marketing Strategy: Create annual and campaign-based marketing plans aligned with station goals (audience growth, brand awareness, ratings, and revenue support).
- Plan & Execute Promotions: Lead on-air and off-air promotional campaigns for shows, special programming, community initiatives, and station events.
- Manage Digital & Social Marketing: Oversee content promotion and performance across station website, social channels, newsletters, and OTT/streaming pages (as applicable).
- Coordinate with Internal Teams: Partner with Programming, News, Sales, Production, and General Manager to ensure marketing supports business priorities and campaign timelines.
- Support Sales & Revenue Efforts: Create marketing assets and campaign packages that help sales teams secure advertisers and sponsorships; provide marketing support for client initiatives.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent station branding across all marketing channels, including messaging, visuals, and tone.
- Create Marketing Materials: Develop or oversee creation of digital graphics, ad copy, scripts, press releases, pitch decks, campaign landing pages, and promotional scripts.
- Vendor & Budget Management: Manage marketing budget, coordinate with external agencies/freelancers/vendors, negotiate quotes, and track spend against ROI.
- Community Engagement: Drive grassroots visibility through partnerships, sponsorships, and local events to strengthen community presence.
- Reporting & Analytics: Track campaign performance (reach, engagement, click-throughs, leads, conversions, audience response) and deliver regular reports with actionable insights.
Requirements
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field*(or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in media, broadcast, entertainment, or a related customer-facing industry.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, campaign execution, and performance measurement.
- Proven experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns (broadcast digital/social).
- Proficiency with marketing tools such as Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics (or similar), social scheduling tools, and content management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience marketing local TV stations, broadcast news, or multi-platform media brands.
- Knowledge of program promotions, ratings concepts, and advertising/sponsorship workflows.
- Experience using tools like HubSpot/CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, or ad performance dashboards.
- Graphic design or video editing skills (e.g., Canva/Adobe Suite) are a plus.

Work Schedule & Environment
