About the Role
NORSAAC is seeking to recruit a professional, reliable, and safety-conscious Driver to be stationed in Accra on a temporary contract basis for a period of six (6) months. The successful candidate will provide safe and efficient transportation support for staff, visitors, partners, documents, materials, and programme-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, timely, and professional driving services for authorised staff, visitors, partners, and consultants.
  • Support official travel within Accra and, when required, to other locations for programme and operational activities.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle is clean, secure, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and promptly report any faults, accidents, delays, or security concerns.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, mileage records, fuel records, maintenance records, and trip reports.
  • Assist with airport pick-ups, document delivery, collection of supplies, workshops, meetings, and other logistics support duties.
  • Comply with all organisational policies, including safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, security, anti-fraud, and code of conduct requirements.

Requirements

Required Skills or Experience

  • Minimum of Senior High School Certificate, NVTI, or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence appropriate for the category of vehicle to be driven.
  • At least three (3) years of professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO, donor-funded project, international development organisation, corporate institution, or similar environment.
  • Good knowledge of routes within Accra and ability to travel outside Accra when required.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, road safety practices, and vehicle documentation.
  • Ability to read and write basic English and complete vehicle records accurately.
  • Clean driving record and ability to provide professional references.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Good time management and willingness to work flexible hours when required.
Safeguarding and Compliance
The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the organisation’s values and comply with all policies relating to safeguarding, child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, anti-harassment, anti-fraud, confidentiality, health and safety, security, and responsible use of organisational assets. Reference checks, police clearance, licence verification, and other background checks may be required before appointment.

Contract and Duty Station
  • Duty Station: Accra, Ghana.
  • Contract Duration: Six (6) months on a temporary contract basis.
  • The role may require local travel within Accra and occasional travel outside Accra for official assignments.
  • The Driver may be required to work outside normal office hours depending on approved programme or operational needs.
