Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting the financial strength of the organization. The role involves maintaining accurate financial data, processing transactions, and assisting with audits and budgeting. This role involves preparing detailed cost reports, conducting variance analysis, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
- Record daily financial transactions accurately and timely.
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements regularly.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and summaries for management review.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Manage vendor and customer accounts, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Prepare and file tax returns and other statutory filings.
- Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with tax laws.
- Maintain records for audit readiness and tax audits.
- Preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgets.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits to verify stock levels and assess discrepancies.
- Work closely with supply chain management to optimize inventory levels.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to cost accounting
Requirements
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Chartered Accountant with honest background
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role (typically 4+ years).
- Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., ERP, Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS).
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
