I Have Grown Past Awards- Kuami Eugene

Rockstar Kuami Eugene has stated emphatically that he no longer pays much attention to getting awards as a musician.

Kuami Eugene was being interviewed by MC Portfolio on “The Portfolio” which was monitored by Ghbase.com.

The musician has said that he has not coincidentally released a hit song, all his hit songs were written, sung, and promoted very well to get the feedback they got.

He added that after 8 years in the game, has has grown passed awards, hence, getting awards is not his ultimate goal as a musician.

“I mean we have grown past awards, we have not grown past awards as it is seen because it is very important, it gives you the recognition”, he said.

Kuami Eugene claims award is not the yardstick for being a successful musician or having a successful hit song.

Citing an example, Rockstar said Ckay of Nigeria had his “Love Nwantintin” all over, however, he was unable to get an award for it.

Meanwhile, according to Kuami Eugene, despite Ckay’s inability to win awards for his viral “Love Nwantintin” song, he is making a lot Lmoney more than people who won awards.

“Okay let me use my brother Ckay as an example.

So we had Love Nwantintin the remix was doing very well, it was all over the world.

And I saw him not winning awards or something.

You understand he is cashing out from this song more than people who are getting awards”, he added.

Kuami went on to say that he could list a lot of musicians including himself that are getting a lot of streams and making a lot of money from their music but are not taking any awards.

“I can give you lots of names that are doing very very good out there that we still stream their music and I am an example of them but they are not taking any award but every year is good for them”, he said.

When asked about things that do not shake him anymore as a musician but used to shake him, Rockstar said “That is the awards I am talking about.
