Another set of 300 individuals displaced by the have been relocated to a modern accommodation in Mepe as part of the Safe Alternative Housing Initiative.

In December 2023, approximately 300 individuals were relocated to fully-furnished quarters.

The spilling of excess water from the  and Kpong Hydro Dams commenced on September 15 due to rising water levels.

A total of nine districts were affected by this event.

Heartbreaking stories emerged from the South, Central, and North Tongu districts of the Volta Region, where the devastation was particularly severe.

According to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO), over 26,000 people were displaced and left homeless.

Now, these individuals have a shelter thanks to the leadership of North Tongu Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
