Jordan Ayew reveals why he doesn't smile

Jordan Ayew has recently spoken out about the misconception that he never smiles and always appears serious.

The talented footballer, who is the son of the legendary Abedi Pele, explained that his unwavering dedication to his profession often leads others to perceive him as being solemn and unsmiling.

Ayew admitted that the main reason people hardly ever see him smile is because of his unrelenting concentration on the game.

However, he made it clear that he is making a conscious effort to change this part of his life.

He made known recently in Q&A.

“It’s [my smile] something I try to work on.

My mum, my aunties, it’s something that they complain about.

Obviously, I’m on the pitch and I can’t really smile when I’m on the pitch because I’m working So it’s hard for me to smile but it’s something that I’m working on.

It doesn’t mean I’m not happy or I’m angry with someone.

It’s just my way of focusing on the game and when I’m focused on the game, I’m just right into the game and there’s nothing else I’m thinking about.”

Despite not having a prolific season, Jordan Ayew recently inked a new deal with Crystal Palace and he has expressed his joy after extending his stay with the Premier League outfit.

Ayew had a contract that was set to expire this summer, but he decided to sign a new one that will keep him with the Eagles through the end of the 2024 season.
