Mugabe was a victim of foreign interests – Rawlings

Former President Jerry John has stated that Zimbabwe’s former leader, Robert Mugabe, was a target of some foreign interests because of his commitment to end colonial exploitation.

Mr Rawlings who led Ghana’s delegation to the funeral ceremony of President Mugabe Saturday, September 14, 2019, gave a glowing tribute on behalf of the President and people of Ghana.

He eulogised President Mugabe’s burning desire to end colonial exploitation which incurred the anger of aggressive foreign interests that discredited and destabilized his rule.

The former President praised the deceased liberation fighter for his vision for Africa’s development, calling his death an irreplaceable loss.

To Mr. Rawlings Mugabe’s oratory skills and wit, lauding him for his fearlessness in making frank speeches at important world gathering.

The late Mugabe’s first wife was Sally Mugabe, who was a Ghanaian. Ghana has had a long enduring relationship with Mugabe until his demise on the 6th of September, 2019

He has been laid to rest on Saturday, September 14, 2019, in Harare, Zimbabwe.
