Two new vaccines enter human trials as response races against time By Chioma Obinna The World Health Organisation (WHO) yesterday warned that the deadly Bundibugyo virus disease epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is far from being under control as infections approach 5,000 and deaths surpass 2,300.

Three months ago, the WHO chief determined that the epidemic constituted a public health emergency of international concern.“Even as we fight to end this epidemic, we cannot allow the response to disrupt access to other essential health services,” Tedros said.
