By Ndahi Marama, Maiduguri A senior military officer who is not authorized to talk to the press has confirmed that only two soldiers lost their lives during an Improvised Explosive Device (EIDs) that detonated along the Maiduguri-Dikwa road ambush by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists, contrary to reports from some online media which claimed that eight soldiers were killed in the blast.“It is not true that eight soldiers lost their lives in the blast as erroneously reported by some online media”.

Recalled that some Soldiers of the 24 Task Force, Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, stationed in Dikwa while returning from Maiduguri to Base with some logistics, were ambushed, after which one of their vehicles stumbled on planted IEDs which exploded yesterday (Thursday).
