Trump on 9/11 reposts video of him asking January 6 rioters to go home
Mandel Ngan/AFP/Getty Images After spending the morning at the Pentagon to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11th tragedy, President Donald Trump apparently had another attack on his mind in the afternoon — posting the 5-year-old video of him telling January 6, 2021, rioters to go home after they violently stormed the Capitol building.
The video, which was posted in full on Trump’s Truth Social account Friday without any further context, shows the president repeating his false claim that he won the 2020 election but telling rioters to go home: “We have to have peace.” A White House spokesperson said Trump reposted the video Friday as “a reminder to everyone that what the Democrats did to weaponize the justice system against President Trump has been debunked thoroughly.
